What are "Special Event" Shows?

"Special Event" shows are those with the biggest names in comedy and will not have any promos, deals, or coupons available and will sell out fairly quickly.

Will you be videotaped or photographed?

By entering an event or program of the Cm, you are entering an area where photography, audio and video recording may occur.

Your entry and presence on the event premises constitutes your consent to be photographed, filmed, and/or otherwise recorded and to the release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction of any and all recorded media of your appearance, voice, and name for any purpose whatsoever in perpetuity in connection with the Comedy Loft, including, by way of example only, use on websites, in social media, news and advertising.

By entering the event premises, you waive and release any claims you may have related to the use of recorded media of you at the event, including, without limitation, any right to inspect or approve the photo, video or audio recording of you, any claims for invasion of privacy, violation of the right of publicity, defamation, and copyright infringement or for any fees for use of such record media.

You understand that all photography, filming and/or recording will be done in reliance on this consent. If you do not agree to the foregoing, please do not enter the event premises.

How can I purchase tickets?

Tickets can be purchased over the phone or through this website. Tickets are also available at our box office.

When can we buy tickets?

Shows usually go on sale about 120 days before the first night and the "ON SALE" is noted on each event. Tickets can be bought online through our website anytime of the day. If you would like to buy your tickets in person or over the phone you can do so between 3pm and 10pm any day of the week.

Do I get physical tickets?

There are no physical tickets. When you come to the show, check in at the box office by giving us your name and showing a photo ID.

Why the two-item minimum?

The DC Comedy Loft requires that you purchase two items from the menu when you come to see a show. This can be any combination of food, drinks, coffee or dessert.

What is your policy on refunds?

All sales are final. There are no refunds, exchanges or cancellations except for when a show is cancelled. If the show you bought tickets for is cancelled you will be offered a refund or a ticket exchange.

What happens in case of poor weather?

If our performers and staff can make it to the club, then show occur as scheduled. No refunds or exchanges will be offered. If we must cancel a show due to inclement weather, ticket holders will be contacted directly. The Comedy Loft is less than a 5 minute walk from the Dupont Circle Metro so public transportation is always an option.

If a show is sold out and someone offers to sell their ticket how does that work?

We have a will call only system, so there are no tickets to send you and any offer to send tickets is likely a scam. If a seller wants someone else to pick up their ticket the seller must call the Comedy Loft and verify their identity before giving us the name of the person picking up the ticket. If you're buying a ticket from an individual, it is up to you to verify that the seller has had the name in our will call system changed.

How long are shows?

Most stand-up comedy shows last 75-100 minutes. On occasion a show will last 120 minutes, but this is dependent on the headliner.

What's the earliest I can get in to the Comedy Loft?

The will call window and the show space usually open 1 hour before the first show of the night. Doors usually open 30 minutes before any late show.

You can also enjoy the Bier Baron Tavern, which is located the floor below, for dinner and drinks starting at 5pm every day. Please keep in mind that items purchased in the tavern will not be counted as part of your item minimum for shows.

How does seating work?

Seating is first come first serve. Thus the earlier you arrive the better seats you will be able to get.

Also all tables are in a "community seating" arrangement, so you will end up seating with other groups. For any special seating request please email jmgaghan@dccomedyloft.com. Only VIP seats are reserved automatically.

Something came up and I can't attend. Can I give my tickets to a friend?

To change the name for your ticket call the box office and tell them you want a friend to pick up your tickets. After we verify your identity give us the name of the person who will be using your tickets.

What are the age restrictions for the DC Comedy Loft?

Shows are 18 and over for shows unless otherwise noted.

Is it handicapped accessible?

Yes, there is an elevator in the street level tavern that goes to the DC Comedy Loft. You will need to call in advance to have the elevator turned on and we will have someone assist into the elevator.

Is there an open mic night?

At this time all open mics are suspended until COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

Does the Comedy Loft sell gift cards?

Yes, we currently have gift certificates available in $10, $25, and $50. They can be purchased online, over the phone, or in person.

Is the Comedy Loft available to rent?

BOOKING PROCEDURES

If you would like to be considered by our booking manager, please send us a performance video from the last three months that is no longer than 10 minutes. Older or longer videos will not be considered as we need recent material to determine best fits. E-mail the link and/or video to Mike.Brown@dccomedyloft.com and make sure that you include a short biography and a resume of your comedy work. Additionally, no phone calls as we need to phones for both the box office sales, reservations, and tavern call in orders.
